Introduction

Science covers those sciences involved with colour through analysis, synthesis, or demonstration, from the colourful Chemistry of Crystals and Dyes to Laser Lighting and Fluorescence, and from Optical Illusions to Fractals.

This covers a compartment of wisdom and knowledge that permeates all other sections, and will be cross-referenced to most other subjects

Seeing or not seeing colours

It is not surprising your most colourful hues no longer exist when the light goes out. However, it can be a disturbing surprise to find that certain colours will not exist when the light is put on if those colours do not exist in the light source. To understand how to see those colours in your paintings or your dress which may have become neutralised or corrupted by the light source, you need to know about the Physics of Light. (See PHYSICS and the Additive Mixture of lights)
