Amusements
Introduction
According to the nature of the amusement so colours can be chosen to echo the mood of the occasion. The most exciting happenings can be intensified by the most stimulating and conative colours, such as the acidic lime yellows, whilst the most whimsical of events might have the subtlest and most wistful and wraith-like colours, such as pale fluorescent violets and phosphorescent lavenders. By contrast, the most bold and physical events of, say, the fairground might be expected to challenge the participant with orectic reds and oranges, capable of reflecting physical action in colour. Comic effects, on the other hand, often come from the juxtaposition of opposite and unexpected colours; and strobo and Op art effects can sometimes precipitate vertigo.
