Colours of the Orders
WILSON, R. (1937) British Traditional Colours. London: British Colour Council. This contains mounted samples of the colours of the Orders of British Knighthood (the Garter, the Thistle, St Patrick, the Bath, the Union Flag, the Royal Standard, as well as the colours of the British Navy, Army and Airforce, British heraldry, and Tartan colours. It is a standardisation of British traditional colours in commemoration of the coronation of king George VI and Queen Elizabeth.

These can be researched in the Guildhall, London, from prints and paintings. The coloured material and the actual robes can often be seen in the various guildhalls.
